Cloosterman’s ZigZag 3 for Autodownload
NavNight 25/1/2012
Main block tonight was the Go4O Section 3 exercises. We used Autodownload and dibbers, with live results, to make it a little more interesting.
The second block went back to the high knee drills and symbol matching relays.

Grid References and Post Codes
There is a useful website that helps convert Grid References to Postcodes. See www.gridreferencefinder.com to go from Post Code to Grid Reference, and to a certain extent Grid Reference to Post Code. Also useful for Latitude and Longitude.
There are facilities that give you Grid Reference direct from Streetmap.co.uk. Read more

NavNight 18/1/2012
Revisited the Harvey Map Cones exercise. People got better at doing this and were able to recognise the different features better. Adam suggested that we should do that with O symbols and IOF Descriptions for UVHS.
Introduced the High Knee running drill and then did a relay doing some exercises and map jigsaws. Read more

NavNight 11/1/2012
This week we started by revisiting the table top mapping. I asked them to do a similar task to last week, but to use symbols and keys more. Then I asked them to introduce height into their table top constructions. The height gave me a chance to talk about the difficulty of mapping height and interpreting contour details. Read more

UVHS Training 11/1/2012
First day of our new regime of 4 exercises and 3 groups where each group does 2 exercises per week. So gets through all 4 in two weeks.
I’m using the Luc Cloostermans Go4O exercises for my bit.
I set up a version of Exercise 2 with SI Units at the cones and provided live results via Autodownload. Read more

A New Year and NavNight starts again.
This week we did some table top mapping. In teams, they were asked to make a pattern with any found objects, map them, clear them off and find another team to put them back. Read more
