Spent the day trying to get primary school kids to fold, thumb and orientate the map, while they were doing a range of courses at Fell Foot Park.
The interesting bit about this was when I got comments back like “When I did what you told me it worked!” Although this wasn’t a surprise to me, it seemed to be a surprise to all of the kids there, even ones that had done some orienteering before.
This was a really excellent day, but with not as many kids as last year. Probably due to the timing (straight after the Bank Holidays) and less than excellent advertising.
